Nirve Freestyle Pro To Appear in SuperBowl Commercial

Fountain Valley, CA - Nirve Sports, Ltd. announced today that professional freestyle BMX team member Mike Laird will appear in Mountain Dew's 2000 Super Bowl TV commercial on Sunday January 30, 2000.
The 25-year old North Carolina native, who will be the center rider of five freestyle BMX riders, will be featured in the television ad on his Nirve "Static" bike. Laird is a Gravity Games invitee and participant, a two time ESPN X-Games invitee and participant, as well as the winner of the 1997 Amateur Street and Vert ESPN BS Series.
"Everyone knows who Mountain Dew is," said Nirve team manager Gary Ellis. "And everyone knows that the Super Bowl is the premier showcase of US TV ads. We consider it a very big deal, that by putting Mike in their commercial, Mountain Dew has acknowledged the importance of BMX to kids, and has sent a message to us that Nirve's riders are among the best anywhere."
"I'm obviously very excited that Mountain Dew asked me to do this commercial," said Laird. "There's always such a buzz about the Super Bowl ads, and for some people, these are bigger than the game itself. I'm really looking forward to seeing it." In addition to his achievements in the sport and his appearance in the Mountain Dew Super Bowl spot, Laird will also be a featured rider in a major video game scheduled for release in the winter of 2000. He will also follow all of the major pro freestyle events throughout the country this year.
